A week ago Christian McCaffrey signed a 2-year extension with the 49ers. McCaffrey has been named the cover athlete for Madden 25. EA Sports made the announcement this afternoon. In the 49ers storied history with an array of Hall-Of-Famers, McCaffrey is the first Niner to grace the cover. He also becomes the first running back to be on the cover since Adrian Peterson and Barry Sanders in 2013. McCaffrey also becomes the first non-quarterback ever since Antonio Brown in 2018. The Madden honor is the latest addition to what is shaping up to be a big summer for McCaffrey. Coming off a season in which he won the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award after posting 2,023 scrimmage yards and 21 total touchdowns and made his first Super Bowl appearance. McCaffrey has just celebrated his 28th birthday and will be getting married in the coming weeks.
