John Cena made a surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank premium live event. Cena revealed that 2025 will be his final year of in-ring competition before retiring. This is something that he’s hinted around for the past couple of years. John Cena made his debut back in June of 2002 after accepting an open challenge from Kurt Angle. After gaining respect from the future Hall-of-Famer, Cena went on to become one of the greatest of all time. John Cena has won countless championships over the years, and he’s currently tied with Ric Flair with 16 world championships. Would you like to see Cena break the tie with Ric Flair and win his 17^th championship? John Cena says WrestleMania 41 will be his final one. Who should be his opponent? Before are 10 matches John Cena should have before finally retiring.

Randy Orton

When you think about John Cena, you immediately think about Randy Orton. These two fought so much back in their heyday, we as fans were tired of it. They wouldn’t even have to feud unless Orton wants to turn heel to face Cena. They could go in two different directions with the first one being about respect and facing off one last time. The other would see Orton turning heel and terrorizing his greatest rival one last time. Either way, as a fan I’d want to see them face each other one last time. Between Orton and Cody, those are my two guys as of now to be Cena’s final WrestleMania opponent.

CM Punk

We all know the history between CM Punk and John Cena. Punk and Cena were feuding when Punk dropped the infamous “Pipe Bomb” 13 years ago. In Money in the Bank back in 2011, they had one of the most monumental matches in the last 20 years. I’m sure their feud would be much different now seeing how much Punk has grown. This could be one of those, for old times sakes kind of matches.

Cody Rhodes

This could possibly be the biggest face vs. face matchup since Hogan and The Rock at WrestleMania 18. They could go in two different directions if this match happens. John Cena could pass the torch to Cody if they see him as the company face moving forward. By the way Cody has been booked, it looks like the WWE sees him that way. The other direction they could go is have Cena challenge for the WWE title. Having Cena face Cody for the chance at his record 17^th championship would be monumental. If they were to meet, could you see Cena winning the championship before retiring?

The Rock

The Rock and John Cena faced each other in two different WrestleMania’s. Could a third time be a charm? With the Rock now being in his “Final Boss” character this would make too much sense. This feud between the two greats could eclipse their feud from over 10 years ago.

Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker is looked at as being one of the future faces of the WWE. He’s stated several times that he wants to lead the company into the future. Almost a year ago, Breakker and Cena came face-to-face on an episode of NXT. They could use that confrontation as the basis for a feud. With Cena retiring and he’s lost a lot of matches over the last few years, could this feud work? The plan would probably have Cena look strong before retiring. If that’s the plan, you may want to keep him away from Breakker. With Bron being the future, you could hurt him by having him lose a feud to someone who’s leaving.

Solo Sikoa

Solo is being built up as he’s the new Tribal Chief in the absence of Roman Reigns. With the imminent return of Reigns, who knows how long the rumored Bloodline Civil War will last. Sikoa took out Cena at the Crown Jewel recently, so the story is already there. The question is, will Solo have the time to deal with Cena before retiring? Could we see Cena aid Reigns and they form a team one time before Cena hangs up the jorts?

Gunther

Gunther is one of the best wrestlers in the world. I’ve always wanted to see Cena face Gunther even when he was the Intercontinental champ. With Gunther saying the ring is sacred and being the Ring General, the feud writes itself. Despite me not wanting Cena to lose every match, this one I’d understand. What if Gunther were the one to beat Cena in his final match ever.

LA Knight

Besides Cody Rhodes, who’s more popular than LA Knight right now? LA Knight is another candidate to being the face of the company and face John Cena. They do have history with one another. They teamed up at the Fastlane PLE last year to defeat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. The promos between these two alone if worthy of a build to eventually having a match.

AJ Styles

Do you remember when AJ Styles first came to the WWE back in 2016? In 2016 and 2017, Styles and Cena faced each other three times. They had some of the best matches against each other. Those matches are still talked about till this day. They could feud for one last time or this could be another respectful feud. Styles is currently a heel and who knows his plans for the future. Either way, another match between John Cena and AJ Styles would be a great moment before they retire.

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is as good as it gets inside that squared circle. Do you remember when Kevin Owens was in NXT? When Owens was the champion, he answered a challenge from Cena and defeated him. Owens can get the most out of anyone in a match. Look back at WrestleMania 38 and him bringing Stone Cold Steve Austin out of retirement after 19 years. We know about the respect Kevin Owens has for the business and facing Cena would be great.
