LeBron James has been the most popular athlete for the United States in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Coach Steve Kerr has fielded questions about Kevin Durant and his calf injury for a while. On Sunday, LeBron James and Kevin Durant lead the United States to a 110-84 win over Serbia. Durant is the all-time leading scorer in the team’s history. Durant entered the game off the bench and went to work immediately. He nailed his first eight shots, five of them 3-pointers, in a 23-point masterpiece in just 17 dazzling minutes. They say Durant was cleared to play just an hour before the game. LeBron began the game being aggressive on both ends. LeBron had 21 points, also finished with nine assists and six rebounds in a commanding performance that slowly broke Serbia. Jrue Holiday was effective on both ends, finishing with 15 points.

Devon Booker hit a couple of key 3-pointers in the first quarter and finished the game with 12 points. Anthony Edwards brought the energy for the United States also. Everyone chipped in except Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton because they didn’t play a single minute. Nikola Jokic finished with 20 points to lead the Serbia team. Jokic was hounded every time he touched the ball. The United States plays again on Wednesday against the South Sedan. In an exhibition, the United States barely beat South Sedan 101-100. LeBron James hit the go-ahead layup to preserve the victory for the United States.
