Mother’s Day is only a week and a half away. They celebrate the joyous occasion, ANTA and Sneaker Room announces the ANTA Kai 2 Mother’s Day sneaker. They will be launching on May 3rd and it’s a deep personal connection with the shoe. NBA Star Kyrie Irving and Sneaker Room CEO Suraj Kaufman collaborated on the shoe. The limited-edition sneaker and 4th KAI2 colorway honor the bond between mother and child.

Drenched in rich red with elegant gold accents, the design captures the strength and tenderness of a mother’s love. Two contrasting heart motifs tell a powerful emotional story: the lateral side features intact hearts, symbolizing the strength we show the world, while the medial side reveals broken hearts, representing the grief and healing we carry inside.

Each shoe uniquely honors the legacy of their mothers:

The left shoe pays tribute to Kyrie’s mother, Elizabeth, with poppy flowers and green and yellow hues symbolizing Australia, where Kyrie was born. A music note, heart, and volleyball icon on the heel nodded to the passions Elizabeth held dear.

The right shoe honors Suraj’s mother, Ellen, with carnations, blue and yellow tones inspired by Jersey City — Suraj’s birthplace — and heart icons symbolizing her infinite love.

Inscribed in Roman numerals on the midsole, MCMXCVI and MMVI mark the years Elizabeth and Ellen passed away—1996 and 2006, anchoring this tribute in heartfelt memory.

This release marks the sixth collaboration between Kyrie and Sneaker Room, with 100% of proceeds going to the Sneaker Room Foundation, continuing the legacy of giving back to the community. The ANTA Kai 2 ‘Mother’s Day’ will be available exclusively in-store at Sneaker Room and online at www.snkrroom.com.

Kyrie Irving’s season was cut short when he tore his ACL back in March.
