The most exciting words in sports are Game 7. The Denver Nuggets will host the Los Angeles Clippers for a chance to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City is the top seed in the Western Conference, and they swept the Memphis Grizzlies in their series. Game 7 has a lot riding for both teams and their futures. After Coach Mike Malone was fired, the future of this team and Nikola Jokic is in question. There have been people who believe he could ask for a trade. The Los Angeles Clippers have a lot riding on this game also. If they were to get eliminated in the first round, how would this team look like next season? They are an aging team full of vets and this team won’t stay the same next season. Who wins Game 7 and moves on to the Western Conference semifinals?

Who Advances to the Western Conference Semifinals?

Denver won the first game of the series at home in overtime. They lost the second game, but the Nuggets won Game 5 at home. Three of the fives games this series were decided by six points or less. Kawhi Leonard is putting up 25.5 points per game. Jame Harden, Ivoca Zubac, and Norman Powell are putting up at least 17 points per game. Nikola Jokic has paced the Nuggets by scoring a little less than 30 points a game. Jokic is also averaging 12.7 boards and a little over 10 assists per game. The Nuggets have five other players averaging at least 10 points a game. Jamal Murray has stepped up like he usually does in the playoffs. Murray scored 43 points in Game 5 to put the Nuggets up three games to two. Denver will be playing at home where they have won two of three games.

Kawhi Leonard and James Harden will need to have the performance of a lifetime. Norman Powell is the X factor in this Game 7. Powell should’ve been an All-Star this season and this will be his time to shine. Zubac will be the key on defense and the Clippers may put Derrick Jones on Jokic. For Denver, we know that Jokic will show up as always along with Jamal Murray. Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. will be keys on the defensive end. Kris Dunn is also the X factor for Los Angeles seeing he’s their best wing defender. In the end, homecourt will be vital for the Nuggets and I’m picking them to win. Denver Wins and Advance 102-98
