Brock Purday has done it all except win a Super Bowl as a starter with San Francisco. They rewarded him today with a huge contract extension. Brock Purdy signs huge extension with 49ers to remain with San Francisco for the foreseeable future. The Niners inked Purdy to a 5-year, $265 million deal. The deal includes $181 million in guaranteed money. This is a massive pay raise for the once Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft. Mr. Irrelevant is known for the final pick in the NFL Draft. Purdy earned $2.6 million total over his first three NFL seasons, making him the NFL’s 76th-highest-paid QB over that span. His new contract has an average salary of $53 million.
Recently, San Francisco signed their All-Pro tight end George Kittle to an extension. Over the past few years, they have locked up Nick Bosa, Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams. Purdy is coming off a 2024 season in which he was often without key members of his supporting cast. Running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles, knee), Aiyuk (knee), Williams (ankle), tight end George Kittle (hamstring) and receiver Deebo Samuel (calf, illness, ribs) all missed varying amounts of time. San Francisco and Brock Purdy are hoping to have a healthy Christian McCaffrey this upcoming season. McCaffrey missed most of the season with an ongoing Achilles injury. The Niners also traded Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders.
