The first Conference Finals matchup is set, and it happens to be in the Eastern Conference. The New York Knicks will battle the Indiana Pacers. The winner will advance to the NBA Finals. The Pacers took out the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games. The Cavs were the favorites seeing they had their best record in the Eastern Conference this season. The Cavs were my pick to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, but it was wrong. New York took out the defending NBA champion Celtics in six games. Jayson Tatum ruptured his Achilles towards the end of Game 4, but the Knicks were the hungrier team before the injury. The Knicks and Pacers met in the semifinal round a season ago and the Pacers advanced. New York dealt with injuries in the playoffs a season ago, but both teams are healthy. Who advances, as New York battles Indiana again.

New York Knicks

New York haven’t reached the NBA Finals since 1999. They are one step closer to playing for an NBA title. Jalen Brunson has shown why he was the Clutch Player of the Year. Josh Hart is as tough as they get and one helleva defender. The Knicks traded for Karl Anthony-Towns in the offseason to get them over the hump. OG Anunoby is not only a great defender but has been great on the offensive end. Mikail Bridges has had his moments on the offensive end also. The fans have willed this team throughout their playoff run and especially in their Game 6 win over Boston. Can they carry that momentum against the Pacers? Will Karl Anthony-Towns and Mitchell Robinson be enough to slow down Myles Turner? Can the Knicks take down the Pacers and head to the NBA Finals?

Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers haven’t reached the NBA Finals since the year 2000. Indiana is one step closer to playing for an NBA Championship. The Pacers have never won an NBA Championship in franchise history. They won all three of their titles while they were a part of the ABA. Tyrese Haliburton is the star of the team, but the Pacers have a complete squad. Myles Turner has been amazing during this playoff run. Pascal Siakim brings his championship experience from Toronto. Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard have been aggressive and got buckets when the team needed them. Can they continue their impressive run against the Knicks? Indiana is built for a playoff run and they have disappointed at all. Can they reach the NBA Finals and have a chance at the franchise’s first NBA title?

Will the Knicks or Pacers Reach the NBA Finals?

New York won two of the three games the teams played this season. Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson have become a rival matchup of All-Star point guards. These two were featured on WWE Smackdown a year at Madison Square Garden. With the Knicks having homecourt advantage, the Garden will be loud during those games. The Pacers have been great on the road as well as at home also. In my opinion, this is going to be a classic series and one that could go seven games. Karl Anthony-Towns and Myles Turner will be a great matchup. We already know that Haliburton and Brunson will be chirping at each other. Pascal Siakim could be the guy that many people overlook. In the end, this feels like the Knicks are destined to reach the NBA Finals. I’m picking the Knicks to win in seven games. New York Advances to NBA Finals
