WWE had an eventful weekend in Los Angeles. They held the collaborative event with the AAA promotion with Worlds Collide. During WrestleMania weekend, Triple H announced that the WWE purchased the promotion. Triple H stated they would have a dual event with the promotion; The original Worlds Collide took place in 1994 and it featured AAA and WCW. Worlds Collide was an amazing spectacle with a lot of the talent being highlighted from AAA. Money in the Bank took later in the evening. Of course, it featured the Men and Women Money in the Bank Ladder matches. John Cena and Logan Paul teamed up to take on Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. Lyra Valkyria defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch. At Worlds Collide, Dominik Mysterio challenge Octagon Jr. for his Intercontinental title also. Check out Trav’s Money in the Bank PLE review below.
The Women Money in the Bank ladder match started off the show. Naomi, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez, Guilia, and Stephanie Vaquer were the participants. First off, props to Stephanie Vaquer because this is her third match in less than 24 hours. Vaquer wrestled on Smackdown Friday and Worlds Collide earlier in the day. The ladies went at each other as soon as the bell rang. There were some great spots in the match like Vaquer hitting the Devil’s Kiss on a ladder to Ripley. Vaquer and Bliss hit Canadian Destroyer on Perez and Naomi. Earlier in the match, Guilia and Perez buried Ripley under ladders to take her out. In the end, Bliss and Ripley were about to go after the briefcase. Naomi pushed them both off the ladder and climbed to retrieve the briefcase to win the match. Winner: Naomi
Match Rating: 4/5- This was arguably the best women’s Money in the Bank match ever. There were a lot of great spots throughout the match. Naomi was the favorite entering the match and she was the right choice to win.
Dominik Mysterio vs. Octagon Jr.
Dominik Mysterio put up his Intercontinental Championship against Octagon Jr. This match came about at the Worlds Collide event. Mysterio cut a promo after the opener at the Worlds Collide PLE. Octagon Jr. and Mysterio brawled after the match and Mysterio challenged him afterwards. The match was a lucha based one. During the match, Dominik hit the Three Amigos and then a Michinoku Driver. Mysterio tried to hit the 619, but Octagon Jr. moves and he followed it with a Tornillo over the top rope. Finally, Dominik dropkicks Octagon Jr. and hit the 619. Dominik hit a frog splash to pick up the win. Winner and Still Intercontinental Champ: Dominik Mysterio
Match Rating: 3/5- The match wasn’t too special, but it did highlight Octagon Jr. What’s next for Dominik?
The Women’s Intercontinental Championship as Lyra Valkyria defended her title against Becky Lynch. They have been feuding ever since Lynch turned on her at WrestleMania 41 after they lost their tag titles. They faced off against each other at Backlash with Valkyria successfully defended her championship. Things have gotten personal between the two and it led to this rematch. Lyra attacked Lynch before the bell rang. They brawled on the outside throughout the match and almost were countout in the process. They kicked out of each other’s finisher and just beat the hell out of each other. After the near countout, they continued to battle in the ring. They exchanged forearms and took turns rolling each other. Becky reversed the rollup and held the trunks of Lyra to pick up the win to become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champ. Winner and New Women’s Intercontinental Champ: Becky Lynch
Match Rating: 3.75.5– Another solid match between these two. It was slightly better than their match at the Backlash event. After the match, Lynch made Lyra raise her arm. She then made her do it on all four sides of the ring. Lynch made Valkyria put the belt around her waist as she continued to humiliate her. Lyra snapped and attacked Becky and left the ring.
The Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match was next. Seth Rollins, Penta, Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, El Grande Americano, and Andrade were the participants. Everyone attacked Rollins after the bell rang except Americano. Solo was left in the ring with Andrade, Penta, and Knight and they all attacked him. All men were close to grabbing the briefcase throughout the match. Towards the end, things picked up with Rollins signaled for Breakker and Bronson Reed to help. They came and cleaned house, but Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo came to hold them off. Solo climbed the ladder to retrieve the briefcase but was stopped by Fatu. Fatu pulled him off the ladder and attacked Solo and eventually put him through a ladder on the outside. Rollins set up the ladder to climb but was met by LA Knight.
He levels him with a clothesline, then ascends the ladder. Rollins pulls Knight off, but Knight sets up for BFT. Rollins sends Knight crashing into the ladder and follows it up with a Curb Stomp, then ascends the ladder and grabs the Money In The Bank briefcase to win the match. Winner: Seth Rollins
Match Rating: 4/5- This was another great Money in the Bank ladder match and in the running as one of the best. Knight was my pick to win and was hoping he would finally get it. Rollins winning opens a lot of possibilities with him having the briefcase.
The main event between John Cena and Logan Paul taking on Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes was next. This was a typical tag match that saw Paul and Cena have differences. It came to a point where it looked like they were going to come to blows. Logan hit an amazing Asai Moonsault from the top rope onto Jey Uso who was on the announce table. In the ring, Cena hits Rhodes with the Championship. Afterwards, someone in a mask appeared and took out Cena. The mask came off and it was revealed that it was Ron Killings aka R-Truth, and he clocks Cena with the championship. Truth ran through the crowd and Rhodes hit the Cross-Rhodes for the win. Winners: Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes
Match Rating: 3/5- The match wasn’t anything special, but Truth returning was the highlight. Truth informed everyone a little over a week ago that the WWE wouldn’t renew his contract. There have been a lot said about how it all unfolded. It’s been said that Nick Khan was the one to get Truth back into the fold.
Overall Rating: 8/10– This was an amazing PLE. From the start to finish there were great moments throughout. I’ve said over the years that the Money in the Bank PLE is one of my favorites. Below are the top 5 happenings from the 2025 Money in the Bank PLE.
