The AFC East is out of the way, so now it’s time to turn my attention to the NFC East. The NFC East haven’t had a repeat winner in over 20 years. The Eagles won the division last season so does that mean they shouldn’t win it this season. Philadelphia is the defending Super Bowl champions after blowing out the Chiefs in the title game. The Washington Commanders made a surprise run to the NFC Championship game before falling to the Eagles. Can they get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl this season? Dallas is under a new regime with the hopes of having Dak Prescott healthy all season. The New York Giants retooled their team and hoping to get out of the bottom of the NFC East. Check out my 2025 NFC predictions and see how things will turn out.
Washington Commanders
You may be thinking, the Commanders were my 5th ranked NFC team which is below the Eagles. The Eagles are the better team, but Washington will finish ahead of them in the NFC East. Washington continued to build around their All-Pro QB Jayden Daniels. The offense added Deebo Samuel via trade, but trading away Brian Robinson Jr. could hurt them. Terry McLaurin finally signed a contract for three years. The defense added Von Miller to help get after opposing quarterbacks. How much in the tank does Miller have? Washington will go as far as Jayden Daniels can take them. Deebo Samuel will add another dynamic to this offense and will help the young signal caller. The Commanders will have a tougher schedule from a year ago and that is my only concern. The Commanders should walk away with the NFC East crown in 2025.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Super Bowl champions are still one of the most complete teams in the league. They ranked atop the NFC to begin the season. You’re wondering, why are they being placed second in their own division. First off, the Eagles have one of the toughest schedules this upcoming season. Last season, almost everything went right for them and don’t think it’ll be the same this year. At the end of the season, they won’t be the top seed in the NFC but will be the best team. The Eagles lost half of their defense to free agency and Brandon Graham retired. Philadelphia still has questions about their secondary after losing Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner-Johnson. If healthy, expect the offense to be one of the better ones this season. As mentioned, there haven’t been a repeat champion in this division in 20 years, and it won’t happen this year.
Dallas Cowboys
The NFC East should be closer than what many are predicting. The Dallas Cowboys should finish in third place. The Cowboys are still dealing with the contract dispute with Micah Parsons, but I’m expecting him to play Week 1. If not, will this carry over to the regular season and linger throughout the year. If Dallas doesn’t have Parsons, they could finish at the bottom of the NFC East. On offense, Dak Prescott returns, and he seems to be in the best shape of his life. Dallas added a legit No. 2 receiver in George Pickens to go alongside CeeDee Lamb. The offensive line is still a work in progress and that will affect the running game. The ceiling for this Dallas team could possibly be them winning the NFC East. With a few uncertainties and new coaching staff I’ll place them in 3rd place.
New York Giants
The New York Giants have been finishing at the bottom of the NFC East for a few years now. New York continues to put together an impressive team. They signed Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, and he’ll be the starting quarterback. The Giants drafted Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss, and he looks like they found their quarterback of the future. Dart had an amazing preseason and wouldn’t be surprised if he plays during the season. The defense has a chance to be good after drafting Adbul Carter from Penn State. I’ll go out on a limb to say that the Giants could be a surprising team this season. The Giants will be more competitive than years prior and wouldn’t be surprised if they finished higher. As of now, I’m picking the Giants to finish at the bottom of the NFC East.
