The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, Sept. 4 in the NFL’s 2025 regular-season opener. The game will mark the regular-season debut for Brian Schottenheimer as the Cowboys’ head coach. The Eagles won both games against the Cowboys last season. The full NFL schedule will be announced Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. A special schedule release will air Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Dak Prescott makes his return after missing the final nine games after hamstring surgery. Dallas has stacked their team through the draft and a couple of free agents. They finally acquired a receiver to go alongside CeeDee Lamb by trading for George Pickens. The Eagles are coming off winning the Super Bowl by blowing out the Chiefs 40-22. They lost half of their defense to free agency, but were able to keep Zach Baun. Baun was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year, and he inked a 3-year deal to remain in Philly. Philadelphia also drafted well, and they’re expected to have another solid defense. On offense, they will be one of the better ones this season as expected.
