Week 6 is in the books and there remain two undefeated teams in the league. Kansas City and Minnesota are those teams and they both are coming off their bye weeks. With the trade deadline around the corner, teams are looking to make some moves. We had two trades already with Davante Adams being traded to the Jets and reuniting with Aaron Rodgers. The Buffalo Bills finally got their number one receiver by trading for Amari Cooper. This past week was perfect for me and my picks seeing my record was 10-0. My overall record jumps to 39-24. The winning percentage rises from 54.7% to 61.9%. Caleb Williams is starting to show why he was the top pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams tossed four touchdowns and made great decision in their route over Jacksonville.
Tampa Bay put up 51 points in New Orleans as they blew out the Saints on the road. Washington proved their legit by giving Baltimore all they could handle in their loss to the Ravens. Detroit embarrassed Dallas in their own home as they beat the Cowboys 47-9. Unfortunately, they lost Aiden Hutchinson to a gruesome leg injury in the process. Cincinnati picked up their second win in the Sunday Night win over the New York Giants. In a battle of New York, the Bills took down the Jets on Monday Night Football. I’ll be picking another nine games for Week 7. Check out Trav’s 2024 Week 7 NFL picks below.
As always, we start things off with the Thursday Night game. The Denver Broncos will head to New Orleans to battle the Saints. This will mark the return of Sean Peyton who coach the Saints from 2006 to 2021. Peyton led New Orleans to their lone championship after defeating Indianapolis in Super Bowl XLIV. Denver had their three game winning streak ended last week against the Chargers. Patrick Surtain II could be unavailable after suffering a concussion last week. How will the defense respond? New Orleans has found itself in a hole. They have lost four in a row and now have turned to Spencer Rattler with Derek Carr being injured. Rattler showed a lot of promise in their blowout loss to the Bucs. Will he continue to gain confidence in his second start? I’m picking New Orleans to end their losing streak. Saints Win 24-17
We have another game that takes place in London, and it involves Jacksonville. This time the Jaguars will face the New England Patriots in a battle of 1-5 teams. After winning their first game, the Patriots have dropped five consecutive contests. The rookie first round draft pick, Drake Maye got his first start last week against the Texans. Maye didn’t look bad after throwing for over 240 yards and 3 TDs, but he did toss two picks. How will the rookie do against the Jaguars? What is going on in Jacksonville? They had a collapse in the second half of the season last year. The offense is scoring a little below 19 points a game. The defense is the second worst in the league as they give up almost 30 points a game. I’m taking Jacksonville to win this one. Jaguars Win 20-17
The Seattle Seahawks will make the long trip to Atlanta to face the Falcons. The Seahawks have lost three games in a row after winning the first three. On offense, the Seahawks can’t find their running game. They rank in the bottom four in run offense, but they lead the league in passing. The defense is giving up more than the offense is scoring. The Falcons struggle against the run, could this be the game to get theirs going? Atlanta has won three games in a row. The offense has scored 100 points in their last three games. The Falcons are playing like the Super Bowl contenders I’ve said they are. The defense will need to get it together for them to make that kind of run. I’m going with Atlanta to win ahead of their trip to Tampa. Falcons Win 31-26
We have a battle of two of the better young signal callers in the league. C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans head to Lambeau Field to face Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. Houston has won three consecutive games after being blown out by Minnesota. Houston The defense will need to step up and play to their potential. Danielle Hunter and Willie Anderson Jr. are two of the best pass rushers in the league. Can they make it four in a row? Jordan Love is starting to look like himself after coming back from the sprained MCL. Josh Jacobs continues to fuel the offense with his running style. The receiving core is one of the best in the league. The defense is top 10 in scoring and will have a time with Stroud. In a tough one, I’m going with Green Bay to win. Packers Win 27-24
We have the game of the week to crown the King of the NFC North. The Detroit Lions will head to Minnesota to face off against the unbeaten Vikings. The Lions have scored at least 42 points in their last two games. They lead the league in scoring and the offense ranks in the top 5 in passing and rushing. The defense is giving up a little over 18 points, but how will the Hutchinson injury affect that? Minnesota is the only team in the NFC that’s undefeated. The offense has been efficient, but the defense is carrying this team. The Vikings defense allows a little over 15 points per game. Can the offensive line protect Sam Darnold enough to torch the defense? This should be a great game and I’m riding with Detroit to beat the Vikings. Lions Win 23-21
We have a rematch of last year’s classic Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs will head out west to take on the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs remain undefeated and coming off their bye week. Andy Reid is 21-4 when his teams come off their bye week. Despite their undefeated record, the Chiefs haven’t looked great most of the season. The offense is still trying to find their groove after losing Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco. San Francisco is coming off an impressive win in Seattle. Despite the injuries, the Niners offense is in the top 3 for passing and rushing. Is this the game where it shows they are missing Christian McCaffrey? This should be a defensive battle for the most part. In the end, Kansas City is hard to pick against after a bye week. Kansas City should pull this one out. Chiefs Win 24-23
We have the New York Jets heading to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in the Sunday Night game. After losing their third consecutive game, the Jets made the move to trade for Davante Adams. Will this be enough to help the Jets turn their season around? New York biggest issue to me is their offensive line. The pairing of Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson is an exciting one. Can New York end their losing streak? Pittsburgh enters this game with a 4-2 record. After six games, it seems like Pittsburgh is making a change at the quarterback position. It was announced that Russell Wilson will take over the realms as the new signal caller. Will Russell Wilson spark the pass offense? This should be a great game between two great defenses. I’m going with Pittsburgh to frustrate Rodgers most of the game. Steelers Win 25-20
We have the first Monday Night game between a pair of 4-2 teams. The Baltimore Ravens head to Tampa to face the Buccaneers. After dropping their first two games, the Ravens are looking like the Super Bowl contenders we thought they were. They are putting up almost 250 yards on the ground and another 205 on the ground. The defense is a work in progress, but Lamar and Derrick Henry have been amazing. Can they continue this trend? The Bucs are the second highest scoring team in the league with almost 30 points per game. Chris Godwin has looked like his old self before the knee injury. Buckey Irving is giving the Bucs a much needed run game. How will this defense hold up against the Ravens offense? This is a tough one, but I’m not jumping off the Baltimore bandwagon. Ravens Win 34-24
The final game of the week will see the Los Angeles Chargers heading to Arizona to face the Cardinals. Los Angeles just ended the 3-game winning streak of the Broncos. Unfortunately, their coach Jim Harbaugh is dealing with a medical condition where he briefly left that game. Justin Herbert threw for over 230 yards in their game in Denver. This could be a sign that the passing offense is headed in the right direction. Can the Chargers make it back to back wins? Arizona is 2-4 entering this game, but they remain only a game out of first place. They looked awful in their last game against Green Bay. Marvin Harrison Jr. went out early with a concussion. Can the Cards rebound with the possibility of being without Harrison Jr.? I’m taking Los Angeles and their defense to win this one. Chargers Win 27-17
